You're a good clinician.
Let's help you pass the exam.
A 2-day, in-person Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) crash course designed for MFT candidates who are strong in the room — and want more structure, clarity, and support around the exam itself.
Neurodivergent-affirming and BIPOC-centered, created by a neuro-queer brown, immigrant supervisor, therapist, and educator.
About this course
The AMFTRB exam has a logic of its own — and it doesn't always match how skilled therapists actually think. If you've found yourself second-guessing answers you know clinically, losing focus under pressure, or feeling like the exam is testing something other than your competence, this course was designed with you in mind.
This is a 10-hour intensive — 5 hours per day, across two consecutive days — focused on what's actually tested, how to approach it, and how to stay regulated enough to show up for yourself when it counts.
We'll work with content, strategy, and the nervous system all at once, because passing an exam requires all three.
The room will be neurodivergent-affirming and BIPOC-centered.
That means accessible pacing, real breaks, explicit structure, and a shared acknowledgment that the exam was not designed with everyone in mind.
We name that — and then we work with it.
Who this is for
MFT candidates preparing to take or retake the AMFTRB national exam
Clinicians who are strong in practice but want more structure and clarity around the exam
Neurodivergent candidates who need a different kind of prep environment — one with real pacing, real breaks, and real support
BIPOC clinicians who want to be in a room that was built with them in mind
Anyone who has struggled with test anxiety, second-guessing, or losing focus mid-exam
Folks who studied alone before and want community this time
What we'll cover
Code-switching
Translating between how you think in session and what the exam rewards — two different logics, practiced explicitly.
Test-taking strategy
How to read exam questions, eliminate strategically, and avoid the traps that trip up clinically strong candidates.
Regulation tools
Mindfulness and nervous system practices you can actually use on exam day — not just in theory.
High-yield content
Domain-by-domain review of what the exam actually tests, organized for retention rather than exhaustion.
