Services

Money can sometimes get in the way of getting the care you need. If that’s a concern, let’s talk about it.

Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum. We build a supportive relationship together—one that can be your test kitchen, your lab, or whatever kind of space you need to experiment, reflect, and grow.

My approach is relational and research-informed. I adapt evidence-based methods to fit your unique needs, not the other way around.

Therapy & Counseling

Online & In-Person

  • In individual therapy, I will help you gain insight into who you are and why you might be experiencing distress. For some, they may be looking for tools for things like how to better manage stress, anxiety/depression, or conflict in their day to day. While others may be looking to develop a deeper connection to themselves, friends, family, or culture.

    Treatment Specialties

I support LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent adults navigating the impacts of trauma, identity stress, and everyday overwhelm. Our work is grounded in compassion, practicality, and the belief that you don’t need to “fix” yourself—you need space to grow into who you already are. Here's what that might look like:

    • For trauma survivors: We slow things down, get curious about shutdown, dissociation, and survival responses, and build nervous system awareness using somatic practices and DBT. We’ll work at a pace that respects your window of tolerance and honors your story.

    • For neurodivergent folks: Whether you’re navigating executive functioning challenges, sensory sensitivities, or years of feeling “too much” or “not enough,” we’ll explore strategies that support your unique rhythms without pathologizing your mind or body.

    • For queer, trans, and gender-expansive clients: I offer gender-affirming care, including documentation and letters for transition-related needs. We’ll also make space to process the impact of misgendering, conditional acceptance, and finding safety in your relationships.

    • For those exploring kink or nontraditional relationships: Therapy doesn’t have to come with judgment. I support clients in exploring identity, intimacy, and consent in ways that are affirming, grounded, and rooted in your values.

If you’re feeling stuck, overstimulated, shut down, or simply ready for a different way forward, let’s talk. I offer free consultations so we can explore whether this work feels like a good fit for you.

  • I work with couples, polycules, and families across a wide range of relationship structures, identities, and dynamics—including kink, BDSM, and diverse forms of sexuality. Whether you're starting a family, feeling stuck in cycles of conflict, or longing for more connection, I help people get to the root of what’s happening beneath the surface, teach practical skills for change, and coach you toward healthier, more satisfying ways of relating.

Here’s what I most commonly help with:

    • Communication breakdowns: We’ll uncover patterns that keep you feeling stuck, learn new ways to listen, speak, and repair after conflict, and rebuild a sense of safety and understanding.

    • Money and finances: Whether it's income differences, financial stress, or deeper value clashes, we’ll explore the emotional side of money and help you find more collaborative ways to move forward.

    • LGBTQ+ family planning and pregnancy: I support queer and trans families through the emotional, relational, and logistical aspects of family building—whether through pregnancy, adoption, assisted reproduction, or chosen family structures.

    • Sex, intimacy, and conflict: We’ll create a space to talk openly about desire, mismatches, fantasies, boundaries, and consent, including honoring kink and BDSM dynamics without shame or pathologization.

    • Emotional disconnection: If you feel like roommates, strangers, or opponents, we’ll focus on rebuilding emotional attunement, trust, and playfulness in your bond.

    • Cultural and identity differences: We’ll explore how race, ethnicity, religion, immigration experiences, disability, neurodivergence, socioeconomic background, and more shape relational expectations, stressors, and resilience.

If you and your partner(s) or family are ready to move beyond old patterns and reconnect in a way that feels true to who you are, I offer free consultations to help you start the process.

  • Held online -OR- in person over 12 weeks, these groups are designed for LGBTQ+ adults seeking affirming space to learn and practice Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. Participants will build tools for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness while exploring how queerness, identity, and community intersect with mental health.

*Please check your insurance coverage before scheduling a consultation.
To do this, call the customer service number on your insurance card or visit your plan’s website. Use these two NPI numbers to check if I’m in-network:

  • 1083403596 (KWS Consulting and Wellness)

  • 1215796149 (my legal name)

Some insurance plans may cover services even if I’m not in-network, but this is not guaranteed. It's very important to check with your insurance to be sure they will pay for sessions with me.

If it’s easier, I’m happy to help check your insurance coverage before we schedule your first appointment.

I do my best to keep track of your insurance details, but clients are still responsible for any costs not covered—like deductibles, copays, or anything insurance doesn’t pay for.

For payments for services rendered, co-pays, etc. I can accept the following payment methods:

CASH

  • In-person only. Exact amount preferred as ability to make change is not guaranteed.

CHECK

  • Given to your provider or mailed to our office. Please include your client number along with the date and time of the session(s) you are paying for in the memo section of the check. For example: “Client #123 6/28/25 4pm”

CREDIT CARD

  • Most major credit cards accepted. Payment can either be made by visiting your client portal or putting your card on file for recurring payments.

FAQs about Payments

  • Depending on your setup, payments are processed securely through either Headway or SimplePractice, our Electronic Health Systems (EHS).

For clients using SimplePractice, your credit or debit card is securely stored and automatically charged for any balance due after insurance benefits are applied. For clients using Headway, billing is handled directly through their platform in accordance with your insurance coverage.

This policy simplifies how you pay for care—similar to paying for a hotel stay or subscription service. While you will not receive a paper statement or receipt, electronic receipts are available in your client portal (SimplePractice or Headway) and can be downloaded for HSA/HRA reimbursement within 90 days of payment.

Both Headway and SimplePractice are fully secure platforms. Your payment information is encrypted and protected, so you can rest assured that your personal data is safe.

  • Copays are due before each session. If they aren’t paid in advance, they will be automatically charged to your card on file within 24–48 hours after your appointment.

Coinsurance and deductible payments will be charged to your card every two weeks, but only after we receive and carefully review an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance company that shows what you’re responsible for.

  • If you do not have a credit or debit card, we can accept a payment deposit at check-in before your appointment.

  • We will only charge you the amount your health plan says you owe, based on your Explanation of Benefits (EOB). If there’s ever a mistake on your bill, we’ll work with you to fix it and refund any amount you were overcharged.

  • To ensure fairness and consistency, we’re applying this policy in a comprehensive way for all clients. Our goal is for everyone to benefit from this updated approach, which makes paying for care simpler and more straightforward.

  • Because health plans can be complex, it’s not always clear what you’ll be responsible for paying. On top of that, insurance coverage can change without notice, which might leave you with unexpected costs. To help avoid disruptions in care, we ask all clients to keep a credit or debit card on file so we’re prepared if any payment becomes your responsibility.
